Customer Rating: Summary: Average Comment: Average as far as sequels go. If you like lots of skin & little plot, then you'll enjoy this movie (even if you didn't see the first one). They had to find a way to kill off most of the original cast to make this work. That should give you some idea.
Customer Rating: Summary: Another gay gross-out, or just openly raunchy? Maybe it's both! Comment: After the success of "Another Gay Movie" (and the boys' closing toast "to the sequel"), it was almost inevitable that writer/director/producer Todd Stephens would pack Andy, Nico, Jarod & Griff off to college for more sexcapades. Opening with a satirical wink to "The Wizard of Oz"--with Nico as Dorothy, natch!--the regular players from the original return. Nico's giggly, slightly loopy Mom makes a cameo ("Some actors were afraid to return, afraid to be typecast as gay. Isn't that silly?"), as well as Muffler, whose boisterous presence is sorely missed in the film. Jonah Blechman returns as the flamboyant Nico, but the other three are replaced by new faces who are just as cute & appealing as the originals.
Flown to Ft. Lauderdale on Spring break to participate in the "Gays Gone Wild" contest--the guy who gets laid the most is the winner--the boys go up against a gay clique calling themselves "the Jaspers", the embodiment of all that is evil with gay cliques. The contest forms each boys' problematic subplots: Andy meets the boy of his dreams, a sexy (and virginal) Latino named Luis; Jarod & Griff test the boundaries of their relationship based upon ground rules; and Nico embraces his queerness (his odd & unique personality, not his sexuality!).
There are twice as many quest stars as the first: Drag queens RuPaul & Sandi Cove; Porn stars Colton Ford (in a "sticky" tryst with Jarod & Griff), the adorable Brent Corrigan as "Stan the Merman", and the darkly hunky Michael Lucas as the pizzaboy who REALLY delivers; and Perez Hilton (as a "born-again" gay) and the cute Jim Verraros (as a sinful young priest).
It's apparent that Stephens tries to pull out all the stops in this sequel...but is it too much? It depends on your taste & degree of humor. I found such trappings as Nico's musical homage to "golden showers" cute and enormous genital crabs funny, but the projectile vomiting scene was a bit too gross.
To me, AGS was a notch below the original because it commits the sin of most sequels: It's so excessive & far reaching that it sometimes smothers the charm of what the original accomplished. Still, I applauded such moments as Andy listening to his heart and abandoning his slutty behavior so he could be with Luis, or felt for Jarod's & Griff's dilemma of experimenting while staying faithful to each other.
In spite of its flaws, it's an enjoyable outing, and just as crude & funny as the original.
Customer Rating: Summary: Definately rent- not worth buying! Comment: I did like the first movie, which I thought, while not the funniest or most original movie I've ever seen, it did have it's own charm. Unfortunately, this movie has little to no charm at all- in a lot of ways, it's just stupid. A lot of it is just promotional spots for a lot of the sponsors of the movie. And, even though several of the actors are cute, they mostly come off as caricatures and just overact like crazy. Maybe they need to try the method 'less is more'. Personally, the main character Nico is just plain annoying. I don't mind characters that are a bit nelly, but for God's sake, find a little testosterone at least! And Perez Hilton can just go the f#ck away! It's really just disappointing- the premise is not bad, but the execution just sucks.
If you want to see something that is as fluffy as cotton candy (and with some possible indigestion), then you might want to rent this. Otherwise, see the original instead. At the end tney make reference to a third installment. If so, I sure hope that it's a hell of a lot better than this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Perfect Compliment to the First Movie Comment: This is one of the few movies I feel compelled to write a review on. YES, our favorite cast members have been replaced, which is sad since they were so genuine, sincere and lovable. That first movie has stood the test of time better than any other gay movie EVER! Yet, the new cast isnt half bad and you forget they are replacements almost immediately.
- Andy and Niko really steal the show with their romances. Andy(He badly channeled Andy #1 at times). Andy meets Luis they are beautiful together and very romantic...just like Griff and Jarod from the first movie.
Niko's self discovery and meeting with a Mer-man was awe-inspiring. Andy and Niko really did the movie justice. Jarod #2 and Griff #2 didnt really contribute anything memorable.
- Even Though this movie boasts "Gays gone Wild" it shoulda been called "Public Display of Affection"! It is nowhere near as sexy as the first movie. In fact, its a very UNSEXY, unarousing movie! The feelings of love, enthusiasm and lust are lost and replaced with "muscles going through the motions"
Now for the CONS: You must watch this movie atleast twice. The first viewing will be tainted by the Ignorant,Vengeful Jaspers and Mr.Yuck himself Perez Hilton. The Jaspers really ruined a few magical moments and really tore apart the movie. It was a Harry Potter Vs Malfoy that didnt fit in.
-There were horror movie aspects...yeah, ok, whatever, keep dreaming!
-Sadly, Niko's Mom, Dawn Muffler, Mini-muff, the cheerleaders, Andy's Mom and Grandpa Muffler didnt really come into play. They were genius!
Customer Rating: Summary: sad distant echo of the orginal Another Gay Movie Comment: Tonight I sat down to watch the newly arrived "Another Gay Sequel" DVD, expecting it to at least live up to the standard of "Another Gay Movie" (which I had thoroughly enjoyed and can happily recommend). I found mysef reaching for the remote to fast forward through too many scenes. The Sequel is really REALLY flaky, extra fluffy and totally pointless. There's nothing at all to be gained by watching it - certainly not any sense of entertainment.
I won't even bother keeping the disc in my collection - not even as an example of tragic and patheticly excessive "gay" genre movie making.

Editorial Reviews:

The boys are back and they re as horny as ever! Packed with celebrity cameos and total gross-out humor, this outrageous follow-up to Another Gay Movie centers around the Spring Break adventures of Andy, Nico, Jarod and Griff when they enter the Fort Lauderdale Gays Gone Wild contest (a contest to see who gets laid the most). The frisky foursome become entwined in all sorts of sexual misadventures in this scandalously funny un-PC comedy.
